Hansel Sneed founded Sneed Charters in 1992 and has been broking yacht charters since 1991 — more than thirty years placing crewed charters worldwide. He runs the company from Palm Beach Gardens, works in English and Spanish, and continues to broker his own clients rather than only managing the firm.
Thirty years of charters
Hansel began broking yacht charters in 1991 and founded Sneed Charters the following year. The brokerage has stayed independent since — it owns no yachts and is not a booking engine, which means it represents the charterer rather than any one vessel.
He runs the company from Palm Beach Gardens and still takes charter clients himself. That matters more than it sounds: in a business where a great deal of enquiry handling has moved to call centres and web forms, the founder answering his own clients is the reason the same person who takes your first message is the one negotiating your contract.
What Hansel brokers
Fully crewed motor yachts, sailing yachts, catamarans, expedition vessels and private cruise ship charters, from around 40 feet to over 300, drawn from a network of more than 3,000 vessels. He works in English and Spanish.
The brokerage he built
Sneed Charters works from three offices — Palm Beach Gardens, San Juan and Barcelona — and every charter is handled by one named broker from first enquiry to disembarkation. There is no fee to the charterer; the yacht’s owner pays the commission, and it is the same whether you book through a broker or direct.
