Frequently Asked Questions
How long has Sneed Charters been in business?
Sneed Tropical Yacht Charters was founded in 1992 by Hansel Sneed and is headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. With over 30 years of experience, we’ve grown into a trusted global luxury yacht brokerage.
What types of yachts are available to charter?
Our fleet includes more than 3,000 vessels ranging from 40 to over 300 feet, including motor yachts, sailing yachts, catamarans, expedition yachts, and private cruise ships.
Which destinations do you offer charters in?
We arrange charters worldwide, with popular routes across the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, as well as Asia, the South Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, and the Indian Ocean.
How does the yacht chartering process work?
You’ll work with a dedicated broker who tailors every detail of your trip, including vessel selection, itinerary, crew, and cuisine, while our team handles logistics, provisioning, and destination planning.
Is my charter kept confidential?
Yes. Discretion is central to how we operate. Many of our clients are executives, public figures, and families who value their privacy, and every inquiry, itinerary, and payment is handled confidentially by your broker. There’s no obligation at the inquiry stage — we tailor recommendations to you before you commit to anything.
Where are your offices located?
We have offices in Palm Beach Gardens, San Juan, and Barcelona, where our team can help you start planning your dream yacht vacation.
Do you offer services beyond yacht charters?
Yes. In addition to motor, sailing, catamaran, expedition, and cruise ship charters, we offer yacht brokerage and new construction guidance, corporate charters, event charters, and diving charters.
How much does it cost to charter a yacht with Sneed Tropical Yacht Charters?
Charter costs vary widely based on yacht size, type, destination, season, and trip duration. Our brokers work with you to find options that fit your budget, from intimate sailing yachts to expansive super yachts, and provide a custom quote tailored to your preferences.
How far in advance should I book my yacht charter?
We recommend booking 6–12 months ahead for peak season (summer in the Mediterranean, winter in the Caribbean) to secure your preferred yacht and dates. That said, our global fleet and broker network often allow us to accommodate shorter-notice requests as well.
What is typically included in the price of a yacht charter?
Charter rates generally include the yacht and a professional crew. Additional costs such as fuel, dockage, provisioning, and gratuities are typically handled through an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). Your broker will walk you through exactly what’s covered before you book.
How many guests can a chartered yacht accommodate?
With vessels ranging from 40 to over 300 feet, our fleet can comfortably host anywhere from a couple on a romantic sailing getaway to large groups on super yachts with multiple cabins. Your broker will help match the right yacht size to your group.
